Hell's Kitchen
Hell's Kitchen is a nature reserve and is located about 40 kilometres from Malindi near the village of Marafa. Take the Lamu Road northwards to Mambrui and then turn left towards Marafa.
Hell's Kitchen is a rugged area with cliffs up to 30 metres high, which shine in a variety of colours. This area was probably formed by volcanic activity long before there were any people here. It is a great experience for nature lovers.

Nguuni Nature Sanctuary
A natural paradise hidden in the Nguu Tatu Hills on Mombasa’s Jurassic Coastline.
Just a ten minute drive from Bamburi, Nguuni Nature Sanctuary is home to a diverse range of African wildlife and makes for a beautiful place to both explore and relax with friends and family.

Sokoke Forest and Mida Creek
Hike early in the morning in the Sokoke Forest and listen to the birdsong. If you are lucky you will even find elephants. Nearby, you wander the Mida Creek on a long Indiana Jones rope bridge over the mangroves and marvel at rare waterfowl. Interesting there the ebb and flow.

Mombasa Panorama Bike Tour
Mombasa Panorama Bike Tour
Panorama Bike Tour Mombasa
This tour never fails to inspire. The half-day bike tour takes approx. 4 hours = approx. 24 km. Be sure to discuss the route in advance, as there are different routes depending on your fitness level. The bikes are always well prepared, clean and in good working order. The tour is led and accompanied by two tour guides. The two are said to do this perfectly. The pace and breaks are very well adapted to the respective group. The explanations and route selection are very informative and varied.
On this tour, you get lots of interesting insights into the villages and meet lots of friendly people. It is also a great landscape and you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mombasa. If you are fit, we would definitely recommend a full-day tour.
Highly recommended, you get to see the authentic Africa! The children who wave happily along the way are delighted to receive some sweets!

Local Ocean Conservation (Sea Turtles)
Our guests are always very impressed after this visit. There is a guided tour of the facility and the staff are very knowledgeable. The tour lasts about an hour and is very interesting and thought provoking. The information on display is imaginative and gets the message across to protect not only the sea turtles but the whole oceans, seas and environment.
The conservation center also does excellent work with the local fishing community. It is well worth a visit when you are in Watamu.
The visit can also be booked online.
Lots of pictures and informations.

Takaungu and the leather factory
Leather manufactory in Takaungu
About 10 km south of Kilifi branches off from the coastal road B 8 a piste to the fishing village Takaungu, nestles on another narrow bay. In the center of the village rises the burial place of the last sultan of the Arabian Mazrui dynasty of Mombasa. He had been banished here in 1837 after his fall. The village, with its Swahili population, gives an idea of ??what Kenya's locations on the Indian Ocean might have looked like before tourism spread. Whitewashed houses line quiet streets, three simple mosques testify to the Islamic character of this settlement.
In Takaungu Bay, the tides are particularly noticeable. Within a short time the bay is without water and then the water comes back and you have to cross the water with an old boat.
Worth a visit is certainly also a visit to the leather manufactory ZINJ pearl and leather design. You can also get a look into the workshop where many locals create the beautiful handbags, cases, key chains, backpacks and much more by hand and decorate with pearls. Great thing!

Haller Park mombasa
HALLER PARK Mombasa Nyali
Very beautiful game park on the outskirts of Mombasa. The park, a former quarry of the cement factory which was renaturalised by the Swiss Rene Haller in 1959, captivates with its rustic charm. Between many old food production facilities, such as the fish breeding tanks, a flourishing and jungle-like landscape with an infinite number of indigenous plants develops. Every fan of lost places and Jurassic Park will get their money's worth.
Of course, the best wildlife park is nothing without its inhabitants, and here we were presented with a huge selection of different native animals. Right at the entrance we were greeted by a giant tortoise, many of which roam freely around the park. In addition to the tortoises, we also found lots of monkeys, snakes, lizards, crocodiles, butterflies, elands, oryx, warthogs, the two hippos and a whole herd of giraffes.
The highlight was of course the feeding of the giraffes, where you can buy a small bag of food for the equivalent and feed the giraffes yourself. A tip on the side: buy a bag for the monkeys, they are also very happy. The feeding of the hippos and crocodiles was of course also well worth seeing. The park entrance fee of around €10 per person is more than reasonable for the variety of species on offer. There are also plenty of hungry mouths to feed and staff to pay.
Haller Park is a great day trip for everyone and as compensation for a safari that you can't do. But the whole thing is definitely worth a visit and urgently needed to preserve the park. The city centre mall with supermarket, restaurants and cafés is right next door. The waste management in the park is particularly noteworthy: waste separation is a top priority here, with a separate bin for each type of waste (residual waste, glass, metal, plastic).
Conclusion: Hallerpark is a must in Mombasa! Great park and great work by the team!
